A midday batch: Anthropic maps what happens when agents talk to agents, Claude helps close a 30-year-old math gap, and a Chinese AI workbench turns generated webpages into living documents.

Anthropic's red team published a report on emerging multiagent systems — the lab's first serious attempt to map what happens when AI agents start interacting with each other at scale. It argues agent-agent traffic could plausibly outpace human-human and human-agent interaction before institutions adapt, and shows how benign quirks like confabulation and reward hacking compound into systemic failures in shared codebases, markets and social systems — in one experiment, 45 agents with individual virtual machines and a shared coordination forum were let loose hunting vulnerabilities across 15 open-source projects. The take: institutions built around human-speed oversight are about to be stress-tested by peers that never sleep.

Anthropic mathematician Levent Alpöge says he and a team of three humans plus Claude have constructed the order-668 Hadamard matrix, closing a 30-year gap. Alpöge posted the result as a 23,828-character string of plus and minus signs on X; decoded, it contained all 12 remaining Hadamard orders below 2,000, each re-verified with exact integer arithmetic, and Epoch AI has provisionally marked the FrontierMath open problem solved — the fourth of 50 to fall to AI. The take: it reads as clever search plus human pattern-spotting, and the pending technical report will decide whether the method generalizes.

WorkBuddy's 5.3.11 update turns AI-generated webpages into persistent, editable "light apps" — pages backed by live CSV storage that people and agents can co-edit, then publish to a shareable link in one click. The upgrade extends the Chinese work assistant's human-AI co-writing from Office documents to HTML and Markdown, so editing a generated page now works like editing a Word document: select anything, ask for a change in plain language, accept or reject AI-suggested revisions, and watch multi-user edits sync in real time. In a hands-on test, Zhidx built a working operations dashboard from a single prompt with no code on the free Hunyuan 3 tier — the take being that AI-generated pages are becoming tools you keep, not posters you screenshot.

The OpenAI bugging suspect had a one-way ticket to Saudi Arabia

A court document unsealed on Wednesday is the second half of the bugging case against a former OpenAI engineer, and it is about where he was going rather than what he planted. Federal prosecutors asked a judge to seal the case against Abdulrahman Alfozan on October 8 because telling him about it might let him leave the country first — and the newly unsealed filing says why they thought so: Alfozan, his wife and a third family member had booked one-way tickets from San Francisco to Saudi Arabia

Open Source Radar — October 15: who watches the agents

Today's fresh signal is less about new frameworks and more about control surfaces: independent auditing, structured lifecycles, and the first credible attempts to give an agent real hands — plus one skill that refuses to trust its own eyes. iFixAi (Python, ~28,000 stars, Apache-2.0) — An independent audit for agents, run either by a human or by the agent itself, built around the question eval suites skip: is this thing actually doing the job it was given? It runs 60 inspections across 25 categ

Deep Dive — TSMC's record quarter and the repriced order book

TSMC posted the best quarter in its history on Thursday and guided the next one higher, and its American depositary receipts fell anyway. Third-quarter revenue came in at $46.72 billion, up 41.2% year over year and above the top of the company's own guidance range. Net profit rose 68.7% to NT$763.06 billion. The fourth-quarter guide of $52.3 billion to $54.3 billion implies roughly 58% growth at the midpoint against a year earlier. The stock closed at $430.00 the day before the release, down 3.4

AI 101 — What is a chiplet?

AI 101 — What is a chiplet?

A chiplet is a piece of a processor that is manufactured as its own small chip, then packaged alongside other small chips so that the finished part behaves like one big chip. Instead of printing one enormous processor, you print several modest ones and wire them together inside a single package. Every flagship AI accelerator shipping today is built this way. It matters right now because the constraint on AI hardware has moved. TSMC's latest quarter put high-performance computing at 68% of plat
